I’ve been using Pushover for a while to send notifications from my script to my phone (for downloads, disk usage of my Mac mini etc.).

PushBullet looks similar but more towards the instant communication between your phone and your laptop, especially Chrome. Pushing back from phone to Chrome is also nice.
